Emergency Vision Assurance Systems Training

In Airventure Academy, we are proud to be the first European Training Provider that can offer a Hands-on, Practical training for EVAS.

EVAS Smokey Simulator is located in our office in Vienna and is used for a live demonstration of the smoke-filled cockpit environment.

About the Course

EVAS is an acronym for the “Emergency Vision Assurance Systems”.

The EVAS unit is a totally self-contained system that includes an Alkaline Battery Pack which powers a blower to force smoke contaminated cockpit air through a filter.

The filter removes all visible smoke particulates and directs the filtered air through a flexible duct and into an Inflatable Vision Unit (IVU) which is placed on top of the glare shield and inflated to provide the Pilot with a clear vision pathway to the primary flight instruments and the forward windscreen.

EVAS is trusted by leading Aircraft manufacturers, such as Gulfstream and Bombardier who are equipping the aircrafts with this light weight and compact, life-saving device.

Why is EVAS Training important?

3+
Incidents/day
Due to smoke or fumes on the aircraft worldwide.
560
Li-ion batteries /flight
An average of 560+ lithium batteries per flight.
120+
Certified Aircrafts
EVAS is certified on over 120 aircraft types.

The EVAS® has one defining purpose:
Protect the pilot’s vision to ensure a safe landing during a smoke in the cockpit emergency.

Normal View

Thousands of Emergency Vision Assurance Systems (EVAS®) are in service now, protecting aircraft around the world.

Smoke View

In the U.S. alone, more than 1,000 in-flight smoke events are reported each year.

EVAS® View

EVAS® protected aircraft can be flown no matter how much smoke gets in the cockpit.
